I'm rusty in all games except MB.
I'll just go do a Arcade Kohaku run at Difficulty 6.

Although I assume without the ability to come back to life ON FIRE and rape everything in sight with fireballs.

Yeah, except for that....although she does have a 32 hit combo that will kill almost any character....

I play every fighter on max difficulty. I do pathetically bad on lower difficulties .

I usually leave them on default until I get a grasp on the game.

It's what I've always done. A few fights to adjust, learn the move list for the character, and I'm good.

Kohaku can kill a character with her drugs.
On max. Not much different than default. Except Ciel is much more cheap than usual.
