Oh well, at least you'll be getting your moneys worth.

Which is actually one of the reasons I enjoy getting the platinum in games. I feel like I'm actually getting what I paid for out of the game, especially the more expensive titles (re: newer games). Yeah, I paid $35 for Alice: Madness Returns (I used some loyalty points to knock $20 off, plus my discount card, etc), but I got about a week's worth of solid entertainment out of it (as in, other than when I was at work, I was playing Alice. So probably close to thirty to thirty-five hours of gameplay). If I was just playing through the games to beat them and never touch them again, I wouldn't be able to afford to buy enough games to keep up, and I would lose interest in gaming for a bit. And then my PS3 would start to make sad noises. It would randomly turn on and ask me what is wrong. Why don't I love it anymore? Why didn't I call to say I was going to be late last night? Dinner was laid out and everything.

*get nearly every trophy in a game*

*realize that of the two remaining, one requires a peripheral I don't have*

    Dammit EA.

    SO AWESOME.

'cept now, to get the , I pretty much have to play through the game from the beginning again. I... kind of fucked up while playing as Jayden. A lot.
If you kill off/imprison a few characters, it gets significantly shorter.

And if you play Ethan like a wimp it's even easier.

The investigation bits with Jayden aren't too tough. Once you figure out where stuff is it flies right by.

And if you set things up more or less right (IE, get everyone to the conclusion, do a perfect/near perfect coverup), you can just go back a couple chapters and alter a few things to get the other endings. I think the most you have to alter is Ethan failing to escape during the motel raid. Anything beyond that doesn't take more than a chapter or two of replaying.

I wondered how many people that was going to bite in the ass.
And yeah, I might have to replay pretty much the entire game (I think I restarted at Chapter 5), but while going through I can grab a shitload of the alternate trophies, which will cut my time down a fair bit. I plan on having Ethan chicken out of pretty much everything that I can, 'cept I can't let him be captured yet 'cause I didn't manage to get everyone to the warehouse in my first run.

But the majority of this second playthrough, other than the mandatory stuff, is about Jayden's investigation and the alternate options. Which will probably net me another 30% completion, give or take.

Same here. Although on the other hand not getting all the achievements/trophies on a game you don't really want to keep playing/play again can be a pain, especially if you're a completionist. Poor PS3. :/

So far, just me. I now have some candid shots of Tan looking particularly exhausted on my PS3.

Ouch. The downside is that getting Jayden to the warehouse automatically gets you one other person there. So of all the people to not get there, he's the worst.

You can bust him out of prison the first time, which leads to an alternate chapter. So you could always just send him there during that sequence. I think that cancels out one of Ethan's non-trophy and overall unimportant segments, but I'm not certain. In any case, it sets the stage for when you finally decide to get that particular ending.

All in all, it was a fun plat to get, mostly because I enjoyed seeing all the alternate dialog options and what if scenarios that could have played out if I did something a bit differently.

Yeah, I'm only a completionist on games that I actually enjoy. There's a reason Battlefield: Bad Company is only at 1%. And it will probably remain that way for a long, long time. However, even though there's no platinum associated with it, I got every trophy in Mega Man 10. Because so much fun.

It's really just a way of extending my enjoyment. If there's something I feel I can't get, or don't actually want to get, then I won't worry about it. Like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I'll probably finish the game on Veteran -- eventually -- and then put it away. I don't really like playing all of the Special Ops stuff, and therefore don't want to.

I'm definitely enjoying the game, and this is one where I'm not going to have to force myself to get those last two trophies, when it comes down to it. The story is fantastic, and even with the couple of things that I change earlier (in a lame attempt to keep everyone alive), the ending was so insanely different that I practically stared at the screen in awe. Even though I had only changed one little thing. Definitely going to enjoy this one, I think.

I think I have OCD or something, because seeing a bunch of unfinished achievements really bugs me. It's obviously not really a big deal, but just the thought that I'm either forced to grind out some boring achievement or let it remain unfinished is irritating. Especially for online achievements that take a shitload of time to get.

Okay. I'm out for the night.

Later all. One of these days I have to spend a couple of days in the Hang Out again. It's amazing how little time you have for anything else when you're actually enjoying playing games again.
