By people, I mean Gypsy. I'm also not impressed but I'll keep it to myself this time. I don't want to go on another OnLive sucks rant.

I enjoyed it. Felt like an all around improvement of a game concept that I didn't hate in the first place. Clearly it's going to pan out pretty well.

Sure they seriously neglected the future storyline just when it started to really get moving, but they substituted that with a lot of backstory bridging the Animus segments to the modern day with bits of pre-AC1 stuff via subject 16. And I always kind of enjoyed the alternate history route. So there's that.

Although the gun did seem a bit overpowered. It's just too good for general use. By the end it was pretty much my primary assassination tool. Out of the 9 or so assassination jobs during the Bonfire of the Vanities I recall using it like 8 times to take out the target. When combined with the BS that is smoke bombs (which covered most of the fuckups I had during that sequence), combat becomes pretty laughable.

And the money making/shop system seemed a bit lacking. By the end I was a multi millionaire with nothing to buy aside from replacements for my spent smoke bombs/bullets/throwing knives.

But I hear they "fixed" both of those and added some combat improvements in the next one. So I guess I'll see in time where that goes.

So yeah, liked it and it was well worth the time spent on it. And it kind of made me feel like grabbing the next sequel at some point. With a PSN release and the end of my financial worries the opportunity seemed ripe. And then better sales came along, and it became an offer I clearly couldn't refuse.
I knew you'd write me an essay, thanks

I liked it a lot, but I can't help thinking, and I still haven't started Brotherhood, that they are milking the franchise too much with a game every year.

Let me know what you think about the multiplayer once you give it a try, I had the chance to play the Beta and it wasn't that fun for me :/ Who am I kidding? there are a lot of rooftops, you are going to love it

Thus far, ACB seems to be a bit of an expansion pack style sequel. Which is alright with me, since it seems to have a decent enough amount of content and I wasn't expecting anything beyond what I've seen out of it. Pumping out releases can work out alright if it's done properly. They've released one every year since AC1, it didn't stop ACII from feeling like a very complete product (personally, I think more complete than AC1 did). As long as they don't let the constantly pumped out games impact the more important releases things should be fine. I suppose we'll see, since it looks like the next "serious" release is coming out later this year (as for why I'd classify it as such, multiple cities, multiple characters, and a conclusion to the plotlines of 2 characters from different time periods seems more major than "now fight the pope's kids in Rome!"), and they're seemingly starting fresh with a new character on the one after that (which would, in theory, be a true ACIII). ACB always struck me as a bit of an expansion. And the bit I've played thus far does little to sway me from that. As such, I don't really feel it's an adequate measure over how anything is impacting the quality of the series. I'd hold off any "they should slow down" or "needs more polish" talk until I see further games from them.

I haven't touched the multiplayer yet, but I guess I'll cross that bridge after I'm done Plat cleanup on Borderlands and possibly put another game between it and the last AC game. Because VARIETY!

And you know how I love those rooftops. In my past life I was clearly a cat. Or a bird of some kind. Or some sort of catbird.

If you think they won't ever talk to you again, you could back off. Would they take that worse than if you were to change tactics or just continue on?

Devi made some pretty valid points.

I'm the best network admin ever, nigga. I got all of my house's computers/OSes printing with my father-in-law's HP LaserJet 4000 shared over the network.

Some back story: About three months ago, he got a virus on his XP (he won't use anything else), and was forced to reinstall everything. He had wonderful backups, though. Ever since, there's been no printing and limited access to his data shares.

Today, I went down to his computer because I couldn't add the printer into Snow Leopard (my computer). After fucking around for... three hours, I not only got the printer available in my hackintosh, I got it working in my wife's Win7, HIS wife's XPMCE, my brother-in-law's XP and Fedora, and his Macbook.

    I'm the shit.
