I think you can get your PS3 controller to work with the PC, in fact, I'm researching if you can use just any PS3 controller even if it's third-party to work in the PC, since I have been seeing some good looking third party PS3 controllers for about $20.

I've tried many a time over USB and nothing. I think it has to be done with a bluetooth dongle I think.
