Bennieboi's Question Of The Day (now defunct)
I was repairing the PC of a girl at school, she's pretty cute and whatnot, and has a twin sister.Oh wait, it's yuri twincest?
I FOUND TONS OF PORN IN THEIR LAPTOP, NOT TO MENTION THE LINKS IN FUCKING GOOGLE CHROME. IN BOTH SESSIONS.
Things man, things were flying and happening all over inside my mind.
You're talking about the first game? I wasn't the biggest fan of that. I felt that Fatal Frame 2 and 3 were much better games overall. I don't get why people hold the first one in such high regard, although it's not a bad game at all.
As a series, it's really starting to get a bit old, though. I've played through the 4th game on the Wii semi-recently, and it didn't really bring anything new to the table. It's really the same bloody game with better graphics and a new camera view. And the ghosts aren't even that memorable, sadly. I remember being scared shitless by that woman who crawls out of a box in the second game - Fatal Frame 4 doesn't do anything of the sort.
I too enjoyed it.
And the sequel.
Which, thankfully, added the ability to castrate people with wirecutters.
I have never been more satisfied with a sequel.
To give an idea of the gameplay: it's pretty much running on the Max Payne engine. Except replace bullet time with the ability to Hulk-out. Somehow, it works.
I love critical attacks in games. More people need to do that. Which reminds me, Capcom needs to make more Onimusha. Killing an entire field of enemies with chain criticals which cleave them in half in O3 was so very very awesome.
Obligatory seconding with a slight preference towards Penumbra.
Yeah, it's pretty much like that. 2 improved on things a good bit. But then 3 and 4 happened. So.... yeah.
what console was 2 on ps2 again?

Did you confiscate anything?
Did they leave any images of themselves in there?
DID YOU CONSIDER WAVING PAYMENT IN FAVOR OF A THREESOME?
Probably the atmosphere (which 3 was lacking in pretty hard). Also, it was the game that set up pretty much every major mechanic of the series. And it's the most survival horror-y of them all, since from that point forward you had the choice of infinite ammo (not that you really needed it).
Furthermore: MY EYES!

Not much, considering most of it was just downloaded videos off from streaming sites, normal pictures, and some MSN chats of them talking to their friends and sharing sexual fantasies with their K-Pop boy bands.Did you confiscate anything?
Did they leave any images of themselves in there?
DID YOU CONSIDER WAVING PAYMENT IN FAVOR OF A THREESOME?
Apparently, they're well adjusted to Asian culture since they wouldn't mind being gangbanged by several guys, or so the chats said.

Bennieboi's Question Of The Day (now defunct)
Ah, so I'm not the only one. As much as I liked Amnesia, there was something about Penumbra, especially Black Plague, that made it a scarier experience.
One of the reasons might be the fact that the zombie-like monstrosities in Black Plague are freely wandering around the complex, and you constantly know they're out there. At least that's how I remember it. While in Amnesia, the boogeymen mostly appeared in a scripted fashion after collecting certain quest items, as far as I remember.
Nope. I largely felt the same way. Several terrors running about felt a bit scarier in a way. And I identified with the plot a bit more in Penumbra. 'course that could just partially be because I'm off the coast of greenland and I know all too well what happens when serious winter storms roll in. And I don't have much of a fondness for amnesia as a plot device, since it almost always goes the same way. Yet people still play it as a twist. Granted, they did a nice job of it, but still.
And so much agreement with the last part. They might as well have hung a billboard over some of those items that read "grab this and run".
