Well the one i have in there now is a Intel Celeron 530 which is produced for socket M AND socket P (which i didnt know)....did you even check beforehand?

I ordered a Intel Core2 Duo T7200 and they did not specify what socket it was.
From what i had read, alot of Acer 5315 (my laptop) users were upgrading from the 530 to the T7200, so i just assumed.
Its really no big deal. I returned the T7200 and have a T7500 (socket P) on the way now

Uninstalling PoP and reinstalling has fixed all, praise be to simple solutions.

Playing through on Hard Mode, so that I can unlock Crushing Mode.

1's crushing is complete BS.
2's crushing isn't so bad though.
The final boss is a serious pain, but once you get it down it's doable.
2 crushing ~= 1 Hard.
Which felt right.
Hopefully 3 is closer to 2's "play the game really well" instead of 1's "lot of luck, memorize spawn points".

I tried the demo before I picked up U2, and I had a lot of trouble getting the aiming and whatnot down right. It took me a long time to get used to the controls (probably about halfway through the game), so I decided to play through on Normal so that I had at least a semblance of a chance beating the damn thing.
This is reassuring.

This, I dunno how far into it I am but the amount of times I've been taken down before I could even reach the first bt of cover isn't right, the revolver makes easy work of things but ammo is too rare.
