It was that or pull everything off the desktop, move the desktop, hope I can find an Ethernet cord, hook said cord into console and desktop, bridge the connection, and hope it works.

Wireless I just had to (at least for the several years I've owned the thing) hit scan, input password, and play.

I may have to do the former though...... I'm unsure I can locate a spare cable.

If I am assuming right, you connect the desktop wirelessly too?
If so, then
I'd buy a router and go with all wires. The only things I do wireless are the cells and the wife's iPod Touch.

Yep. The router and modem are about 3 rooms away. Above me.

I even bought a 100' CAT5 cable and ran it through the wall outside, under the siding and upstairs through the wall to my son's room for his 360. I knew it would be faster, and it was 10x cheaper than the wireless adapter.

Ha. Bridging fixed nothing. In fact, now the desktop isn't connecting wirelessly, despite resetting things

Wow. Seems that those devices that were connected to the network (laptop and desktop) remained connected (in the desktop's case, up until I tried to bridge it, then it came disconnected), but those that weren't (PS3, computer I tested) won't connect. Kind of odd... Maybe getting those upstairs to reset the router will fix things. Of course, since it's 11PM, those upstairs are likely asleep. Good thing I wasn't intending anything important online on the desktop or console

I HOPE that'll fix it....... I don't know what else to try if it doesn't...
