It's impressive that they're making it so backwards compatible, especially considering how many formats are involved. I suspect this is not going to be an inexpensive console. This may be pretty bad for nintendo, since it'll no doubt be the most expensive console on the market. In theory, anyway.
See the 3DS, they're not going for the 'affordable' range anymore.

Plus, the more shit they cram into the box the more chance of it dying.

So the new Nintendo console will probably have a RROD/YLOD equivalent.

Nintendo has never really been "affordable," if you think about it. $200 for an NES at launch? Ouch.

Also, calling it now. BSOD. Blue Square of Death.

Except with the Wii and Gamecube. Both were less than the other systems at the time, plus the Gamecube went down in price quick.

Sucks for PS3 owners, I guess.

Hopefully they'll fix some aspects of the combat system, otherwise people will rage hard. The controls are already well-suited to a gamepad, though, so the only severe changes will be graphics-wise, most likely. There's no way in hell the 360 can handle this on max settings.

If they can pull off a decent port, I'll be pleased, I know nothing of the Witcher other than hearing IT'S FUCKING AWESOME by both Gare and my best friend.
But other than that, I'm liking the fact that this is a PC to console port, if it's designed in the superior platform and if the main dev team is in charge of it, I think we can see a good work.

I can't think of horrible ports from PC ports right now, except for Starcraft 64 (oh god), but those days are long gone.

Hopefully you guys will get a good port. I have faith in the devs. These are the same guys that realized that the DRM was affecting performance (less FPS and longer loading times) and causing other problems, so they decided to completely remove it from the game in the very first patch, only a week after release.

CDProjekt RED - pleasing the customer like a boss.

    And Silent Hill HD Collection

Is it confirmed that the PS3 MGS HD Collection will include the PS3 Store version of the original MGS?

There actually seems to be no mention at all of MGS1, which makes me a sad panda..
The inclusion of an HD remastering of Peace Walker on the other hand makes me as giddy as a schoolgirl.

The Japanese version of said collection do include a PSN voucher for MGS. But Peace Walker will be released as a standalone game.

From what I've gathered Blue Point is handling the MGS2 and MGS3 ports. They did God of War Collection so it's probably in good hands. Hideo said to expect MGS3 running in 60 fps. Peace Walker seems to be ported by KojiPro itself. Considering that and the fact that PW will be released as a separate product in Japan maybe we should expect it to be more than just a "rebuilt port"? Perhaps they will redo it into a proper HD title?

Also, I'm kinda worried that they will rip out the main theme in MGS2 and MGS3.

I see. I have the Store version but would be nice to have the all the MGS games in a BRD.

They have to announce this literally less than a week after I buy Peace Walker for PSP. I will still most likely buy it regardless because I'm like that. I wish they could have remastered the first one using the Twin Snakes assets.
