Yeah that isn't too bad then. Gamestops are very different. There is one in a town near me that I don't mind as much but in the nearest major city where both gamestops in town are like less than a mile apart (super serious) they annoy me to no end.

But come on, they're rates are downright terrible. Though I've had some good experiences. I was talking with a best buy employee who said you'll get $5 more trade-in credit there then gamestop. I might just have to try them next time.
Lol Best Buy is a joke. If you actually want decent money try an online trade board. You can put it for more than you would get for trade-in but less than the price it would be used at gamestop and everyone wins.

I gathered that, it was deeply amusing. I ended up getting a sealed copy for $20. One of my better purchases no doubt, I love Valkyria Chronicles.

I look at it this way, if I am going to buy a game, I will go to either Wal-Mart, FYE, or I will go to a few locally owned game stores, for one, I get games cheaper, and 2, they have a bigger selection, and some games that are hard to find.

There is this one game store, locally owned, I got 12 PS2 games, for 40 bucks, yes they were used games, BUT they were in very very good condition. Plus I found Half-Life for the PS2, which is a rare game to find, not extremely rare, but you have to do some searching, and I got that game for $5.

Matter of fact, when I got those 12 games, 6 of them I got for free, because I use to buy stuff from them all the time, so I got a great deal.

The 2 locally owned stores I know of, do not take games in shitty condition, which is really cool. So I would shop there and Wal-Mart before I ever buy anything from Gamestop

Damn man where do you live? There are absolutely no locally owned game stores around here. Strictly big name stores like Walmart and you guessed it; Gamestop.

That's cool, but it's also a good point about Gamestop. I had a copy of Megaman X7 that didn't work, and didn't have a manual. I stuffed a French manual from Megaman X8 into it and cashed it in during a promo to get $25 in trade credit (getting me $15 in profit). Where else can you pull crap like that?
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

yeah but look at it this way if you buy a game there open it never play it or even take it out of the case just open it and take it back an hour later are they going to consider it new or used when you bring it back in.

Yeah I live in Kansas and within 40 miles of me there are 4 completely local places (all deal in everything more or less) and then many more local chains if you will. I count cd tradepost as a local chain as they are in Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas only I think. They might have some in Oklahoma now I CBA to check. But there are 5 of those within a 40 mile radius as well. Truly God's country. Lol.

@ARP: I go local for used games and online for new unless I'm getting shit off clearance from KMart (KMart runs much better clearances and sales than Wal-Mart at least near me anyway, they also run new games a week or so after they come out on $40 sales)

@Google: Gamestop is running +50% store credit for everything right now. Exploit city.

I just had a good expierence. I got Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World 3 days earlier than expected. Shipped same day I ordered, took 2 days to get here. And I chose the cheap shipping that takes 5-10 days.

Speaking of which, the one I went to? Yeah, in the mall literally RIGHT NEXT DOOR there is another Gamestop. And then 5 blocks away there is another Gamestop. And none of them could seem to figure what I was asking for. =\
