So how do you know if your console is affected?
Yeah, general rule for flash media is if it's MLC (Most new consumer drives) you'll get about 1,000 writes a block. SLC gets about 1 million. Old flash drives were usually SLC which is why they were so fucking expensive back in the dayDrives very often get replaced before coming close to the limit though, so this wasn't a concern until SSDs came around and people started to put operating systems on them.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_m...or_hard_drivesThere is also some concern that the finite number of P/E cycles of flash memory would render flash memory unable to support an operating system. This seems to be a decreasing issue as warranties on flash-based SSDs are approaching those of current hard drives.
Mind you, if you do hit that limit, they're still readable so you can move everything off the drive onto a new one.
Panda when you update it every game you put in will say "disc unreadable"
That's how you know. But anything made 05/06 would be a good bet.
Also this flash drive took ages to format too, is that another sign that it's near the end of its life-cycle?![]()
So, if I get this job I interviewed for today, you'll all come buy things from me to help me meet my sales goals, right?
