It does seem like people are divided on this game. I wasn't looking for anything groundbreaking or to rival the absolute awesomeness of FFXII. It'll be nice to continue the series and it was a decent price to boot.

I should probably finish Lost Odyssey before I start another rpg though.

Lost Odyssey is a dope game. I wish i still had my copy.

Most of them, I have enjoyed.
Still interested in trying out Mass Effect, though.

Play Mass Effect on Casual. Then go to Mass Effect 2 and play on whatever you want. ME2 is the better game, even though the customization tree isn't as large.

If you have a PS3, just buy ME2 and watch the motion comic and make some choices.

And it seemed like a great game. I just couldn't get into the battle system at all. I think it would be the kind of game I would love to watch someone else play, but which I have no intentions of playing.

It is a fairly slow game too, but I'm rarely sober so it was great to zone out to.

Agreed. ME1 on casual makes for the best gameplay/story experience. ME2 is a much easier game on higher difficulties, compared to 1.
