That much, though? Seems that it's the same size as if I'd compressed the mpg alone. Then again, it's still odd to me that the avi is 22 times larger than the mpg

Apparently saving a mpg to avi after adding deinterlacing, cutting out the black borders, and resetting size based on a 4:3 ratio results in a HUGE file.

Seems like a lot of work for Youtube to turn into a crappy flash movie and watch it in a browser

The MPEG-1 file was way bigger than the original .avi, and the MPEG-2 file was even bigger
