Not sure where you are now level-wise, but my main party of Stocke/Aht/Raynie was around Lv50-51 in the final battle. And it was a pain in the ass. The boss has three forms, and I could just barely beat the last one by using all my best items and stuff. Pretty sure Lv60-ish is more ideal for it, but I just ended up getting someone else's save from Gamefaqs.I don't mind particularly, but I've been on a killing spree for the past hour, I kind of assumed I was actually going to be able to fight him.

I sympathize completely. I did a bit of grinding before I stopped playing for a while, because I hit an earlier spot where I was pretty badly underleveled.
I started abusing Vanish almost as soon as I could.

Quick reminder: the final boss will start out as a proper battle where you can push stuff around, then the boss will morph into its giant form, occupying every slot on the field. So Aht will be pretty useless for anything other than healing and occasional buffs. Something to keep in mind, mostly because you can't change your party once you start the final battle.

That's alright, I don't mind having her relegated to healing. I don't really have anyone else leveled up enough to survive anyway.
