So I have fallen in love with "The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me."
Why have I not been listening to this album since it was released?!

I'd never even heard of that group until you started mentioning them.

Not that they sound particularly interesting to me.

And not that I really listen to anything outside of the occasional video game OST or classical arrangement. And Kalafina.

    They are a great band.
Although there are only two tracks on their first album ("Your Favorite Weapon") that I still enjoy listening to ("Seventy Times Seven" and "Soco Amaretto Lime"), but "Deja Entendu" is one of my favourite albums of all time, and "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me" and "Daisy" are definitely creeping up on that list. Although "Daisy" has a tendency to have these weird, distorted outros that I can't say I especially enjoy. But TDAGARIM is a fantastic album.

Dun worry. I've had enough people tell me the story that it has essentially been ruined anyways. And I've never been a huge Kubrick fan, anyways, so I'm still not sure if I'll ever get around to seeing it.

The basic story is decent, and it's worth seeing just for all the references to it that pop up elsewhere. Most recently, I heard a quote from the pilot in ME2 that referenced that particular seen.

Otherwise, it's probably the slowest, most boring film I've ever seen in my life.

That's what I feel about most Kubrick films. One of the reasons I tend to avoid them. I'm sure one of these days I'll get around to it, but I've got a bunch of other movies that I'm actually looking forward to watching coming up, first.

/just saw Casablanca for the first time the other night.

I haven't seen that in ages, but I first saw it when I was a kid. I remember that and the Maltese Falcon both had the paperboard slip cover on the tapes, but the tapes themselves were blank and labeled with a piece of masking tape in my father's handwriting.

I also remember the first time that I witnessed my father copying a tape of the Empire Strikes Back for someone, and told me it was illegal.

I was like four and thought it was the coolest thing.

My parents ordered that movie channel thing wwaaayyyy back in the day and would tape movies off that all the time. I thought it was normal to have three movies to a VHS tape and have to rewind/fast forward to find the one that you wanted to watch. I think one of them had Beethoven's 2nd (the dog movie thing), Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Die Hard: With A Vengeance.

I think we only ever had one tape that had two movies on it. I can't remember which though.

I only have a few things left over from my VHS collection (namely, the Back to the Future series), but I don't think I'll ever do anything with them. I'm certainly not going out of my way to acquire a VCR. But I like to know they still exist, anyway.

Sort of like my poor SNES.

We never had much of a VHS collection. Mostly just Disney movies. I still have my old VCR, though.
Never did own an SNES when I was a kid. It wasn't until a few years ago that I finally got around to getting one.
You can have mine if you want... I literally never play it.
