Did a quick search and supposedly some people had success removing it by going to; "Control Panel >> Windows Update >> View update history >> on top before listing of all updates, To remove an update, see…click where it says Installed Updates >> Select your poison and remove it"
Also read that someone avoided it by going to a previous restore point they had from two weeks prior.
Wouldn't know myself though, I haven't used Windows 7.7 has been giving me nothing but crap lately, and I don't ever remember dealing with this on XP.
Never really tried Vista, but I'm guessing it's even worse.
