Oh my god, my friend bought MK9 the other day. So much fun. Story mode is awesome too. Trilogy was probably my favorite MK game too, but the new one is a close rival.
Mmm, quesadilla with plenty of pepperjack cheese.

MK9 combines the best of both MK2 and MK3 worlds. It has the crazy technical juggle combos from 2 combined with swift button-mash combos from 3. There's some experimental JTAG-only DLC floating around there that enables some unfinished characters. Some complete with fatalities.

    I'm jealous.

Yeah, I really like the juggle combos in MK9, although I never played much of MK 2/3. That's crazy, what characters are unfinished? I've only been playing the story mode over at my buddies house, so I have no idea how many playable characters there actually are outside of the characters in the chapters.

Also, I just tried out a modded multiplayer server in MC for a few minutes and decided to quit. Not because it was bad or boring, but because I realized that if I got too deep into it I would quickly become addicted and probably not sleep tonight. It's like an MMORPG.

Someone unlocked classic costumes for all of the ninjas, male and female. There's an unfinished female ninja, named Skarlett. I also read about a test character, who is a non-descript guy who the announcer calls Fujin.

Currently had a string of good luck with my 360s as of late. All 3 of the previously dead 360s that I had are currently working. One of them, a silver JTAG Xenon, has gotten ~10 hours of gameplay the last two days and has yet to glitch out. Also found out the other two fixed 360s are JTAGable, one's a Xenon and the other's a Zephyr chipset. Not too good of chipsets. With some cooling mods they should be fine though.

That's crazy. They'll probably end up milking the shit out of the game with a bunch of DLC huh?

Speaking of DLC, I finished Castlevania: Lords of Shadow the other day.

I like how you have to buy the DLC to even remotely understand how the ending makes any bit of sense.

I was even going to rant about it in a blog post or something.

I'm preparing to write a blog post about why DLC nowadays is such bullshit.

    Hivemind much?

Also, do I have to start talking about nek_ for Skinner to appear? Is that how it works?

    Awesome minds think alike?

Less work for me, then! I don't usually mind DLC, it's kind of silly, but it's optional. When you make the ending of your game only make sense to a person who's played (or read about) the DLC, however, that's completely ridiculous.

That's kind of how it worked on the old arcade Mortal Kombats. They would have a ton of revisions that would add characters or add moves, even beyond just MK3 & UMK3. I just hope they have Robot Smoke as DLC, I used to own as Robot Smoke, also Chameleon, Chameleon was awesome.

That's pretty much how Alan Wake was. I beat the "game" and realized that the real story didn't even truly conclude until I downloaded 2 other DLC "episodes". Pretty lame if you ask me.

I agree. Not to mention that only one of two announced DLC packs has been released thus far, and (if I'm not mistaken) it's 10 bucks. For one extra chapter of gameplay.

The main game has twelve chapters of varying length -- from one to six+ levels. Even if you bought it brand new on release day for 60 bucks, that's five dollars a chapter.

And you know, the only thing stopping me from writing a rant, despite the fact that Gare was already wanting to do something similar, is that I have no idea what to call the blog thing.
