Just followed this tutorial and added a 3-pin fan header to one of my 360s. I decided to first experiment doing this on one of my RROD 360s.

I plugged it all in when I was done. When I turned it on I heard a loud pop.

I don't know what it was, but the fan is spinning and the 360 starts up just fine(as fine as a RROD 360 can). I hope that pop wasn't anything too bad. I followed the tutorial to the T.

Sounds like a cap went out. I should know, since it has happened 9 times to my gf's Video Card...

Damn, it was a cap. Just found the one that popped, was easy to find because it's bulging. Should be easy to replace though. I should also have plenty on one of my other RROD 360s.
