I was secretly hoping the same thing, it's just too hard to punish all of Akuma's jump ins. Even then it came down to a sliver of health.

Akuma is somewhat hard to figure out.
And if people start using the weaker versions of his moves to "combo", it can be a problem.

Yeah no doubt, stacking his weak specials leaves me wondering where my health went. Not to mention that Ashura Senkuu pretty much lets him be where ever he needs to be with very little start up and recovery.
