I can see time trials being common (there's a few "beat level/boss X in Y time or less"). Possibly some sort of rule for beating a boss without using the proper strategy (the new megaman games gave an in game achievement for not using the boss weaknesses, I could see something like a Zelda game where you can only use the sword to beat the boss instead of a safer arrow/hookshot strategy, or using the bug catcher for certain bosses in LttP.).

Then there's the old "don't die" or "don't get hit" ones.

The latest contra has a trophy for finishing the game without using a powerup of any kind. There's also one for a mostly pacifistic run and a one-life run. Those could certainly work on the older entries.

1CC awards would be pretty likely. When games give a continue option these days they sometimes make it so that you have to finish the game without it for a certain achievement/trophy (Bioshock comes immediately to mind).

And then there's the really interesting "force the player to use a really crappy weapon/the starting weapon/a developer favorite to finish the game" awards. I can see Doom having a "pistol only" or "shotgun only" achievement. Possibly one for chainsawing a boss as well.

I would like to attempt the interesting ones, I've played l4d for example and see no point in achievements that require nothing more than attrition. (the kill over 50000 zombies one)

Murdering that orphan was simply a horrible thing to do to a fictional character.

And, really, that's a whole other kind of bad feeling. Not unlike murdering murdering 50 babies while their parents beg me to spare them. In a room that's still caked with the blood of the last batch of innocent people I massacred. Which, ironically, was how they topped making me murder an orphan.

What I did on that day was a crime against the minds of the viewers and against art itself. The innocents I slaughtered can find peace in death. Those who fell victim to my horrible sin will find no rest, nor salvation. They must carry on, aware of the horrible misdeeds I have wrought.
