Finished watching the final two episodes of Magica Madoka. Pretty cool bittersweet ending. Kinda what I was expecting.
Satisfactory ending all around.
Even if it did eventually devolve into philosophical rambling while TRIPPY ART EFFECTS EVERYWHERE.

I absolutely loved it, too. Actually, the ending of it reminded me a bit of the ending of PPY for some odd reason. Mind you, I don't think Gainax ever quite figured out if they were deconstructing the mahou shoujo genre or playing it straight with Yucie, unlike Akayuki and Gen with Madoka, so I don't think that's the reason. Well...hey, it also looks like Gen can still pull out a few surprises even after his style becomes so infamous.![]()
Protip: "accidentally" forget that Petite Princess Yucie has 26 episodes rather than 25 before showing it to someone else. Hilarity ensues.
EDIT: Ah, geeze, and I needed it pointed out to me. The actual Walpurgisnacht is April 30. The final episodes ended up airing April 21 (April 22 local time). Question: what special day is Friday, April 22?
No, almost certainly, it was unintentional. Still pretty interesting, in light of the extra delays even after the earthquake.

Watching Natsu no Arashi. Pretty interesting so far. A somewhat different form of fan service, and pretty funny most of the time.
EDIT: Alright, scratch that. Last episode of the first season is so very fan service. But it's hilarious.

The new Highschool of the Dead OVA. Which was basically a fanservice-focused special episode of a series that was already rather fanservice-heavy to begin with. So yeah, it's more or less 15 minutes of "let's get all the female characters completely naked" and "how much borderline porn do you think we can get away with?"![]()
That's a bit depressing. I had hoped it would be more story-focused. But at least it's not a hot spring episode. Wait, it's not a hot spring episode, is it?
It's a beach episode. Almost the same thing.
Pretty sure they're saving the story bits for a proper second season. It did say "to be continued" at the end of the episode. Or do what I do and just read the manga.
I've been enjoying Pokemon Best Wishes lately. It's surprisingly watchable.
I still need to finish watching saiyuki reload gunlock. and tales of the abyss...
i'm checking out how good durarara, wolverene, clannad and sailor moon stars are (Its been ages since i saw an episode of stars -i watched one ep around 2001-2003 or so...-)
watched Kashimashi - Girl meets Girl
Don' worry, it won't hurt... that much!
Hanasaku Iroha. A fairly interesting slice of life series, too bad it's one of the new shows of this season, so there's only a handful of episodes available right now. Really liking the "simple, but nicely done" character designs and the overall look of the series. And I was quite surprised by how likable the protagonist turned out to be. Bottom line, so far so good. I only hope it doesn't start going downhill.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, stopped from episode 17 (skipped 16)
