Well my current laptop gets too hot to have on your actual legs. And the cooling fan thing for the underneath that I have has a fuck off fan that only works if it's on a bed.

Honestly I'd only use the netbook in bed for browsing the internet or watching BBC iPlayer on.

My PS3 is right next to where I'm sitting. I don't have to leave this chair, since it's hooked up to both the monitor and the TV next to it (which, thanks to hookups, is now also a monitor!)

Fortunately All of this is visible from the couch as well.

Hell, the kitchen isn't even 10 feet from here. I can literally make myself a sandwich during a loading screen.

    So fucking cozy.

Are you sure you're not living in somebody's cupboard? The sly bastards might be renting it out to you!

Acer? My old one was just as bad, say no more.

Yeah, I wanted to use mine in bed but I couldn't get it to pick up signal in my room at the old house. Then I got my Macbook which runs nice and cool for internet browsing and was able to pick up the wi-fi signal so I've just stuck using that even now I've moved.

    Yep, Acer Aspire 5535.

The other laptop's an Acer Aspire 5315, other than them both getting really hot they've both lasted a good while.

I was confused and then I saw you live in England.

Old game pricing for out of print stuff is all supply and demand.

I could rearrange and stick my computer next to my bed, but I like where it is .

That is why I feel laptops are the way forward.

I can be at my desk, or I can be in bed whilst using it.

Nope, it's simply the living space of someone who is not simply mooching off his parents and has no cohabitaters.

Apparently mine is a deathtrap. I let my dad borrow it for a while and apparently there was one occasion where it started sparking when he plugged something into the USB port, and another where smoke started billowing out of it. Although given his track record I don't know if I can completely blame the laptop for either of those.

I just opened my brother's Acer netbook to clean the fan and now it's not powering on at all.

This laptop before I got it off my grandad/uncle, they reckoned it was constantly turning itself off and overheating and shit. The one time I was there and witnessed it "going off" it was the screen going to sleep because of idle... They sent it to Acer and Acer claimed there was a problem with the heatsinks and sent them a replacement. Either way, I've got it now and there's nothing wrong with it.

Laptops fail to have the power of desktops for the price .

I got my laptop off my uncle for £150, AMD Athlon X2 1.9GHz dual core, 3GB RAM, HD3200 integrated video and a 250GB HDD. Pretty nice for the price IMO.

If he bought it new, it probably cost him a lot more .
