I'll keep those in mind, though luckily I can run BTTF even in mid settings or so. I'm getting the full game later on.
I can run all of them at decent settings, and my video card is a piece of crap (Radeon HD2400).

Unless your motherboard is a complete POS (which is somewhat unlikely), then yup, card related bottleneck.

Turning off shadows in new games results in a massive frame rate increase .

This means nothing to me, sir.

I'll just max games from 2005 and earlier. Provided they'll run in Windows 7 anyway.

Aw shit I don't have a controller for my laptop anymore, I sold my wired 360 pad.

Time to piss around with those horrible Dual-Shock 3 driver programs that never work.

Providing your CPU isn't too shit a new card should do the trick...

I could max crap like Batman Arkham Asylum on my old rig (Intel E2140 (biggest bottleneck), 2GB RAM with a 9800GT).

Right now my processor is an E4500, it needs replacing so I can convert videos faster .

Not too bad. Then yeah, if you're doing video editing and shit then you probably will benefit from the quad-core.
