I seen Iron Maiden in 2008, it was a badass show

I actually don't like Dimmu all that much. They're not horrible but damned if they're not exceedingly cheesy and one-dimensional.

Ouch, I wish I lived in the UK, or Germany, a lot of bands I like do shows that are only 20 euros (sometimes cheaper) to go to.

Rob Zombie is terrible. My friend really likes Dimmu, I don't understand it.

It's only Maiden and such that charge that much (and in Maidens case, its that they actually have a fair bit of a stage show and that means a lot of extra gear and people to haul around). International tours that come through here range from pass-the-hat-round gigs down at the Squatters Arms pub up to massive shows that use the Adelaide Entertainment Centre and charge in the hundreds. Seeing the average international metal band runs about $30-50 a ticket. Which is pretty good really. Local shows tend to be anywhere from free to $20, depending on where they are and who's playing.

Regardless of what you think of Zombie's music (personally, I've got a lot of nostalgia for the first two and don't mind the rest), he's one hell of a showman.

Has anyone heard of the band "Forbidden"? They're an old 80's Thrash Metal band and they're actually pretty good.

And Snuffleupagus, I like your taste in metal.

Forbidden is a great band, actually to me they are very underrated.

Don't know if anyone here are fans of Judas Priest, but KK Downing, one of the guitarists left the band today, and is retiring.

I was quite shocked, and I think there is more to the story then this.

Probably couldn't face down dealing with one last big tour. Performing something like 30 shows in a couple of months across multiple continents - and pulling a lot of material out of the archives at the same time - is one hell of a thing to ask of a guitarist.

Yeah, I could see that, he had a good career though, him and Glenn really are a great guitar duo though.

I listen to Darkest Hour probably more than any other band. At least I have been for the last couple of months. It's sort of become my life's soundtrack. All the music I had acquired since I graduated high school, because I got my computer as a graduation present, was on an external hard drive. 50 gigs of music. Gone when my hard drive fried. So I pretty much have only been listening to whats on my mp3 player because its all I have right now. So pretty much Darkest Hour, In Flames, Sworn (who I've just recently discovered and incidentally fucking rock), Dead Man in Reno, Norther, and From Autumn to Ashes. Basically just the stuff I put on my mp3 player before I left for school the day my external fried.

Apocolyptica is pretty nice. Been awhile since listened.

Got some Cult of Luna playing now.
