I've got less than that for 3 PS3 games at Gamestop.

That's like CEX's trade prices on PS2/GC/Xbox games, we sell for: £12, cash: £1.70, trade: £2.00

Independent shops can be just as bad if not worse, sadly. When the Wii came out and you couldn't find them anywhere one of the bigger indie shops that did have them in stock started trying to sell them for double the price.

All of which is why I never trade in games anymore. The second hand shop where I used to buy loose SNES cartridges as a kid wasn't too bad though. If you wanted a game he had and were trading another in he'd only charge you £1, so practically a straight swap. Even at age 12 I was saddened but not entirely surprised when he went out of business.
