    I have three at the moment, one has a mostly empty 500GB, and the other I use solely for ripping movies. I rarely use the one with the 500GB or the space would be gone by now .

    When said metric system means I am on occasion required to drive a car with an onboard computer that will only measure temperature and distance in either centigrade/kilometres or fahrenheit/miles with no way to mix the two, yeah, I agree with you.
