*listens to Agalloch because why not*

Oh look, another semi-decent band completely ruined by shitty "throat cancer" vocals. Sigh.

    HELLO SERAPHIS BY THE WAY.

    Aww.

No, seriously though. It's getting to the point where, after over a year of playing PS3 games on an HDTV, my eyes are SO fatigued all the time I'm actually starting to get worried. It's not even a "BUT MY GAMES DON'T LOOK PRETTY ENOUGH" thing. It's just trying to focus on all the blurry, out-of-focus images is straining the fuck out of my eyes. =/

    EDIT: Hi Gare!

EDIT 2: OH NO YOU DIDN'T.

Sounds familiar. I got a new monitor not because I desperately wanted to see all the awesome resolutions, but because I didn't want my eyes to explode. I've been using a CRT until last year.

OH YES I DID. I hope they have instrumental-only songs, because I'll totally listen to those.

Half of The Mantle is instrumental, and most of the songs with vocals are at least 1/2 clean vocals. Meanwhile, The White EP is completely instrumental, and one of the best things I've ever heard.

And yeah, my eyes just can't take much more of this. Unfortunately, when you live on as small a monthly income as I do, just going out and buying an HDTV isn't an option. It would take at least five months of saving and buying literally nothing for myself aside from food and paying bills to be able to afford just a DECENT HDTV. Ugh.

WWE: All Stars is getting good reviews, they're kinda comparing them to NBA Jam (compared to realistic sports games) and the old N64 wrestling games.

Someone tell Cosmic to get it straight away.

I love me some good instrumental stuff. I might give those a listen.

In any case, I'm off. It's getting late, and watching stand-up all night on Youtube doesn't really help with the whole "trying to fall asleep" business.

The only game I have ever had trouble with while playing on SD was Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts. It's impossible to read the text, and 90% of it does not require a button press before it goes off the screen. It was maddening

Also, I'm replaying ME, with a Sentinel in Hardcore Mode.

I just remembered you can't 'revive' your teammates with medigel. This is going to be interesting.

    Bioshock 2.

1 looks pretty in SDTV and gorgeous in HD, but playing it right after 1 makes you think you're squinting and playing the same game.

About halfway through my most recent playthrough of ME2 on the PS3, I realized I was playing it on the normal setting. Generally I choose casual because I want more story and less 'die, restart'. Honestly, it really wasn't all that much harder. Hidden for Fer: I still lost too many people on the suicide mission. I just hate wasting time on the loyalty missions.

I'm looking forward to Bioshock Infinite
