    It does, I was running a Sapphire HD3870, Zotac 8600GT and a Zotac 9800GT off it. Two of those cards are quite beefy ones so it's certainly capable.

    But I've no idea whether using it on a US powerline would blow it up or not!?

    I believe you use 240v, and we use 120v...but most have a little red switch on the back to switch between the two.
