When I first got my 360 it was so noisy I thought there was something wrong the DVD drive and swapped it for another console, which did the exact same thing.
A couple of months ago I realised I was completely wrong and the drive itself doesn't make a sound.
What it actually does is cause the entire god damn TV unit and everything in it to vibrate at a deafening volume.
I couldn't stop laughing when I figured this out.
