How about Minecraft. Although it is immensly fun, it is obviously overrated.
I can't believe I got the admins to give me a Sesame Street username.
Fallout 3.
Did not enjoy. At all. And can't understand what all the hype is about.![]()
CoD
I hear too much "quick - scoping" and "360 drop shots" in school these days. And this is the only game people really even talk about now :/

ok don't hate me for this... but i have to say world of warcraft. sure its got lots of shit to do (it kept me sucked in for 5 years) but when you get right down to it most of the quests are exactly the same... go here, kill this, loot that, repeat until braindead. dungeons are fun but they have the same problem, the addition of siege vehicles was cool but the dungeons are all pretty much the same. imo the only redeeming factor is the pvp and the open chat room style of communication.
oh and almost everything for the wii was a huge disappointment for me
Halo
Halo 3
I do understand all the hype and fanboys of Halo. It's not that great of a game. There are tons of other shooters out there that are far more worthy than Halo.
World of Warcraft like konnerjr explained so well... and I wouldn't pay monthly to play a game that I own!
The last 3 or 4 Call of Duty. I haven't play them all but I don't understand the reason to give more power to the one that does not need them. A nuke to the guy that has more than 10 kills in a row... He doesn't need it, he's already winning the game!
And there's nothing new in the last ones, there is no need for the same game every year and each year it is a commercial success. Why?!

I like the left 4 dead series even though it's overrated. It's a great idea to add a four player co-op survival horror action game, beats Resident Evil 4-5 concept-wise IMO.

I enjoy Call of Duty for a "I want to play an online multiplayer game with my buddies and not have to think too much just to kill a few hours," but that's really about it. I usually can't stand to play for more than an hour or two at a time, and even that is kind of taxing. And hearing these guys rant and rave about "zomg look at that sweet shot!~!@~~~~!!!!!" is fucking mindnumbing.
I can understand the hype for the first Halo, because it actually was a very good, well put together game that was a lot of fun, and it did "modernize" most of the FPS into what they are today. The sequels, however, and what it has done to the FPS genre... meh.
