This whole thing is ridiculous. From what I understand, Sony only makes around 5% of their companies revenue from consoles anyways. I guess its Korea vs Azn, but as far as I know Azn usually wins because all Azn's know Kung fu.

I think it's a little too late to make a ps3 thats harder to hack, since all the hackers already have their own console in the first place. And for backwards compatibility, I read in a gameinformer that sony was working on a ps2 emulator to make all ps2 titles available on psn. Plus back in the day people didn't have backwards compatibility and just played previous system games on the previous system. No offense to people who don't have the previous system, but if you wanted to play ps2 games bad enough buy a ps2 first.

As one of two PS3 owners amongst my Xbox-fanboy friends, I gotta say, Sony's kind of embarrassing me, regardless of whether or not they're really gonna try to put out a new un-hackable system.

    I feel your pain.
Due to the lack of third-party support, this is the first console generation I haven't been playing a Sony system.
It feels weird, but I am enjoying my 360.

Meh, it's their consoles, they can do whatever the hell they want to. Even though dropping the prices of old models will circulate hackable consoles while the nonhackables are at a premium is plain stupid.

If Sony were smart, they would jack the price of all the old models and sell the unhackable models for dirt cheap, a loss leader if you while. Then people while have to buy games, download crap, etc.

Sony probably doesn't even care for all we know. This is just something for them to do.

...lack of third-party support? That just isn't true in any way. @____@

Plus, there's great first-party games as well.

The 360 has less third-party support than the PS3.

Maybe for like a year after release, but now Sony wins by a lot.

A the risk of sounding like a fan boy, which am certainly am not,my 360 gets way more play time then my ps3 in fact,my ps3 just collects dust and rarely plays a blu-ray movie. You have to admit by all standards the ps3 is a absolute failure, sony has gone from dominating the console world to lowly 3rd place.Since taking away backwards compat, was when I lost interest in playstation

I couldn't disagree more. You may not be a fanboy, but you sound like one.

    *sigh*
Now I feel like I've been living in a closet since '07. But fine. Lack of third party games that I personally want to play. Now it's entirely subjective and no one can argue with me.

You're talking to gamers. Online. Good luck with that.

With which bit, living in a closet, or not being argued with?
I'd think fellow gamers would accept the former readily. <3

I'm curious now though, is there a database of 360/PS3 exclusives? My knee-jerk reaction would still be to guess there are more on the 360, but admittedly I could just be desperately clinging to my initial perceptions at each system's launch.
I guess that's derailing a bit, though. Either way, the PS3 jailbreaking thing makes me sad. More specifically, interviews with Sony PR on the topic does.
