Not able to password reset it with a boot disc thing?
Not bad this OS has been installed almost a year on this laptop, last virus scan was fuck knows when. Only 7 issues, all of which being Javi 'exploits' which Antivir has removed.![]()

It's a BIOS password. There's a chip on the motherboard that contains the password, and it's figured by using the Dell service code and the code displayed on the screen telling you that you need a code. Some fancy magic is used, and a code is generated. Dell has to verify you are the owner of the computer before they will give you a code. One of the favorite posting on Dell's forum is that if you can't prove you own it (paperwork), you have a 'computerized doorstop".
There's a process for shorting the security chip, but it involves complete disassembly and soldering wires on the pins of the chip. I'm not going into that much detail for a 12 year old laptop.
EDIT: There's also a program that will figure the password for you, but it won't work on x64 based OS's, and I'm not reinstalling Windows just to fix this piece of shit.
Good stuff. I really just want to be able to play jazz but I can't wrap my head around it.Should have paid more attention to theory!
Oh this is no game, handsome.![]()
