This thread tends to have more views, so I'm posting it here.

So, anyone who's up to date with this kind of stuff willing to recommend some good new and/or semi-recent shows? I don't really watch anime that often these days, but I'm keeping a a txt file with dozens of shows if I'm ever in the mood. In any case, I guess I need somethnig from the last couple of months/year. Madoka Magica has already been recommended to me, and I've seen PSG and Highschool of the Dead, but that's about it as far as semi-new shows are concerned. Thanks.

Randomly picked out a show I've seen mentioned here, so I ended up watching Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin. It was fun to watch, though I wasn't the biggest fan of the last 2 or 3 episodes. The ending felt a bit rushed, too. I guess having only 13 episodes is partly to blame. Still a decent show, though; the likable main cast and interesting premise saved it from being mediocre.

No, what saved it from being mediocre would be Maya's legs.

Anyways, finished Macross Frontier because MORE SPACE ROCK OPERA. Twas alright. Glad it wasn't as drawn out as Macross 7.

Also finished Needless. Art style was like Yu-Gi-Oh (the original) with more boobies. Other than that, it was pretty meh.

Next on the chopping block is Shinryaku Ika Musume, then the rest of the Macross series (plural).

Been watching some of that Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Now I require more snacks.

Have you seen the Black Lagoon OVAs yet? Only three out of the five episodes have been released yet (next on March 2, then May 11 for the last), but it looks pretty interesting. Of course, you may or may not want to wait for the English dub of that. The one on the main series was pretty damn good for the most part.

I don't care much for dubs, I've watched anime in Japanese all my life. Plus, subbed version is out earlier. And Revy's glorious Engrish cracks me up all the time. But yeah, I might have to check it out.

Also, I feel it's only appropriate to post this here.

About damn time, too. It's only the best fucking manga ever, it needs more anime adaptations.

Angel Beats. Liked it a lot, though I seriously need to watch something more light-hearted now to cheer myself up. Depressing show is depressing. Heard rumors of a second season, and it could actually work if it continues that "Alternate Epilogue" thing.

Madoka Magica. Went into this one with a slightly skeptical mindset, but was pleasantly surprised. A pretty twisted but thought-provoking take on a generally light-hearted genre. I kinda joke about it being The Dark Knight of magical girl anime.

DMC was pretty damn average. Meh. Also, I hate Patty.

Hopefully Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid can make me happy again.

Just finished watching SDF Macross. Makes me appreciate the way the songs were used in Macross Frontier so much more. First half: barely any. Second half: not enough, and rarely in an effective way.

Also, /laugh at various animation mistakes. Like a character permanently switching costumes, then three episodes later it shows them wearing the costume they switched out of, even though it's not a reused reel or anything.

The DMC anime is pretty much Dante kicking devil ass, I liked it . I'm still in the middle of Rurouni Kenshin, I figure I'll get back to it after I finish off a couple more games.

Sadly they thought Patty was a good idea and completely cheated the audience out of a devil trigger fight. Otherwise it was a pretty okay series.

What was wrong with her? Anyway, I'm going to watch Deltora Quest again (high fantasy !)
