There's actually been a lot of good stuff that's come out in the past year. Highschool of the Dead, Umineko no Naku Koro Ni, and the currently-airing Mahou Shoujou Madoka Magica (Or Puella Magi Madoka Magica, depending on where you're looking) are all pretty good for horror. First one's got a bit of ecchi.

Kaleido Star came out a few years ago, but it's my guilty pleasure. Who cares if it's about a chick joining the circus? It's amazing.
Of those, only Black Lagoon and Kaleido Star have English dubs thus far. If that's your poison. But both dubs are actually pretty damn good.
