Yeah, I don't think I have received so many racist insults in XBL in the whole two years I have played in there, EVEN IN GEARS.Pretty sure you were just unlucky, there are plenty of awesome people playing TF2.
I visit GameFAQs for similar reasons, some of the retards there really crack me up.
Someday I'll play it again, I just end up getting very bored playing it, or f00bar goes insane when playing TF2, since I only play it muted. Stupid mic spammers, once they blasted the Wilhelm scream on it while playing on headphones. I didn't get scared or anything, but ended up with a nasty buzzing sound in my ears.

I just realized something...
I play on a Furry server when i play TF2, and about 70% of the regulars are gay.
Possibly for that reason, they are all fairly level headed and non-judgmental people, and are easy to get along with.

I Only play on 2 servers, one alot of friends are on thats super laid back or some other one I Came across Freight with No Respawn timer quite fun

No, I gotta learn to write that better, XBL has been nice in the whole time I have been playing in there, a few hatemail and voice messages, but that's it, I meant that in the short time that I have been playing TF2 in the PC I have gotten several "fucking stupid nigger" and "oh great, fucking nigger engineer" and shit.There's your problem.
