My dog is afraid of the swimming pool if it's wavy, and won't jump in unless you pull him or you're right next to ledge.
I think all dogs do that, just instinct or something. My dog does it before lying down too. Also, since he's a pug, he fucking digs constantly into bedsheets and the couch and shoves his face into little crevices looking for food. It's funny though, when he shits, he claws up the grass to mark his territory or something.
