The Last Great Sonic Game

Frankly, determining whether Sonic 3 & Knuckles is one game or two separate games is, in this case, a matter of personal opinion and semantics. It just depends how you look at it. Aeolus Aeneas is right in that, yes, they were released as two separate purchases, and as such they are two games. Alan Heer is right that if combined they make one gameplay experience that is the canon game, as it were, and Krisan is right that it's one game from the perspective of the creators, but due to constraints had to be released in two episodes.

I just realized Sonic CD was pretty damn cool too. Haven't played it that much though, but the soundtrack was quite yummy, if I recall correctly.

S3&K forever! Of the Sonic games released in recent years I've only played Sonic Chronicles. And even though it's made by Bioware, it's still big steaming pile o' shit. I heard the new Wii Sonic game is cool though but haven't tried it.

The last great console sonic game was sonic adventure 2. But the portable titles have stayed good. Sonic Rush was excellent, and Sonic Rush Adventure was an awesome lead-in to Sonic World Adventure..but I'm glad it got renamed Sonic Unleashed over here cause it was NOT an adventure title. I think Sonic 4 and Sonic Colors are steps back to past glory, and I hope in a few years they make sonic adventure 3.

I follow the sonic comics closely so I don't mind the extra characters as long as it's done well. Personally I would love to see Scourge the Hedgehog appear in Sonic Adventure 3 like Shadow did in SA2. The idea of Sonic in a parallel Mobius would rock! Like Robotnik's plans gone wrong strand him there or something...

But I want Sega to keep getting back on track before they release something that awesome

He could mean Sonic 2 on the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis. Tails first appearance, I've heard people to refer to Sonic 2 like that.
