Why must I be ill? I'm only allowed to miss one day of each clinical. The first one is tomorrow.

I'm certainly not ill enough to prevent my functioning, but it's generally not a good idea to give dying little kids another infection to worry about.

According to my friend, cosplay costumes can cost like $120, why would someone buy that crap?

No, but girlfriend does and she hasn't lost her job, spent a single buck at those nor killed anyone because of her negligence.

I believe she's playing the games wrong or something.

You don't buy cosplay costumes. You make them!

But it really depends on what you're going as and how thorough you want to be. I found a picture on the intarwebs of someone I went to high school with that took a bunch of cardboard boxes and spraypainted them to look like a box of pocky, and that was their costume.

Then you have people like that Brazilian chick who's semi-famous for dressing up as Samus. You know she paid the big bucks for that.

Well, cosplay can be awesome. If you're hot. Too bad most of those people are not.

Yeah, he was an extreme weeaboo.

The kind of ones who wear random ugly clothing, don't brush their teeth and have messy hair, but they feel their anime knowledge will let them get one of them hot waifus and act like condescending assholes with everyone around them? Yeah.

Which is one of the reasons I never fitted in the anime scene around here, I'm not like them.

As much as I dislike the weeaboism and tabloid-ness of Sankaku Complex ("X THING IS SO BAD IT SUCKS WITH QUOTES OUT OF NOWHERE", they do have some delicious cosplay galleries.

If you make the clothes yourself it's much cheaper. Patterns are usually more expensive than the materials, if you buy a pattern on sale it's pretty cheap. I have no idea where you would get a pattern for a cosplay outfit though, I would think using other patterns as a base and figuring out the more unique stuff on your own would be the better way to go.

You mean like some on 4chan, they have insanely high standards in women and will never settle despite being morbidly obese neckbeards.

edit: A lot of nerds can have very abrasive personalities like you described more so than non-nerdy people.
