Ah, I went through that too but with US series like Spin City, Friends, Frasier and the like, for some reason you can tune into the channel using a FM radio, so I had to watch the TV muted and listening to the show using my old Walkman, those were the days.
Ah, we had the normal version of it, completely Japanese names, all the "I'M SO GAY FOR YUKITO" thing and such, figures, since Mexican TV was alright with a series like Ranma 1/2 that had well, lots of nudity.

Be glad. The American airing of "Card Captors" apparently managed to inspire a whole load of Internet rage I only learned about years after. Admittedly, that's a pretty easy feat, but Nelvana really, really tried at it, considering that in addition to the script changes, they cut a third of the series and aired the rest out of order.
