Most anime I've seen are more of a teaser for/abridged version of the manga than anything else.

If you want the rest, read it.

Printing manga is much cheaper, plus you only need the artist and author .

Seen the first season of Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. This anime is just so damn wrong in everyway, but the music has a nice beat.

I'm aware of this. My point is that you almost never get the full story in the show, so you should read the manga if you're actually interested.

The endings in the anime version tend to go better, and I'd rather have some kind of ending than 50 volumes. I'm not big on manga, it's a lot easier just to watch stuff.

Nothing. That's where the writer stopped writing.

But the general continuation of the storyline is covered in another one. Shirou continues down his path of being a hero, he sees a lot of people close to him die (a few likely by his own hand) and he eventually alienates everyone around him. He starts to become bitter and jaded after realizing that his father was right about heroism. Which also leads to him developing somewhat more shifty morals and less of a distaste for killing. Eventually the protagonist gets framed for causing a war to break out after which he gets hunted down. He dies hated and alone amid the bodies of people he failed to save. But all is not lost. He sells his soul to save a small group of people nearby. But then has to spend eternity in a living hell where he has to watch people suffer and die over and over forever while he's helpless to save them. He also has to watch the events that ruined his life play out again, just because the universe hadn't quite shat on him enough up to that point.

    Saber remains DEAD.

    Ilya dies.

Rin moves on with her life after she gets tired of dealing with his bullshit. She likely marries and starts popping out successors.

Sakura was probably murdered by Shirou, if someone else didn't beat him to it.

Clearly, stopping the ending when it was only mostly a downer before it went into "oh god, why" territory was a good idea.

Those spoilers are kinda awesome. Which is weird, because I remember Fate/Stay Night being a pretty mediocre, forgettable show.

The storyline that was animated was the most straightforward and average of the 3. It's the most popular in japan, but I consider it the weakest.

The remaining two are "stereotypical shonen anime" (fight sequences EVERYWHERE) and "GRIMDARK" (character breaking moments up in this bitch) as opposed to "predictable plot progression with romance". They also probably downplayed the writer's complete disdain for the main character and everything he stands for.
