I was down a fair bit and was at the point where if I didn't double up soon, I was going to have a really hard time. I figured trip kings was the best hand I was going to get in a while. I raised him on the flop and he pondered, then called. I checked it to him on the turn, he raised it to twice the big blind, and I raised him all in (something like triple the pot). He had his straight on the turn.
I could have possibly played the hand a bit better in terms of when I placed bets and when I went all in, but in the end it probably wouldn't have mattered.
Yeah, when there's only two people going into a flop out of five players, trip Kings feel pretty powerful. It was just a bad beat.
