I seem to remember having sort of the same relationship with the first game, though. I played a few races and didn't really get what the fuss was about. And then I started buying a couple of cars and before I knew it I was hooked.

I'm up to the extreme series, I have 3 events left to do then endurance... Then I just have B-Spec mode where the AI drives for you. I don't have any interest in ever doing any of B-Spec though.
