I imagine having a kid adds to the work needed to keep it clean . Vacuuming and mopping are what I do least often; in a couple more months I plan to actually clean the carpeting rather than just vacuum.

Mostly it's just tidying up. I have laminate hardwood, 'cept for the bedrooms, so usually sweeping and a bit of spot-mopping is good enough to keep it clean. But you do have to pay attention to the floors -- especially with a kid running around twice a week.

Are the new Youtube boxes a part of the old system or the new hacks and such? I prefer to view LP vids in their related threads, rather than opening up a new Youtube tab for every video, so I'm rather fond of the little + that allows you to increase the vid size a little.

Depends on the kind of carpet for how difficult or easy it is to clean.

My father's place has hardwood floors. I had a little throw rug in my room, just to keep the area in the middle of the room from getting scratched up by foldaway chairs and the like. I'd never had them before, but I miss them now. My kitchen and bathroom floors have that linoleum stuff, but it's a checkered pattern, so half of the squares are white. The wax on top desperately needs to be stripped and redone, most of it is a gross yellowish color now.

You're correct. Those boxes were from the previous setup. It also allowed for automatic creation of youtube videos from any youtube link, instead of copying the code for that video between [youtube] tags. But then people (well, just one or two guys) complained and panda "fixed" it. To the other version. Which wasn't as good and required editing of links.

Well, I love the "new" Youtube tags. And I think they disabled the auto-complete again... I could be wrong. I don't have a Youtube address on hand to attempt.
