That was my theory, as well. Most of this is just going to be getting used to any changes they made in the game play versus the original NES titles. Since I've never played either of the two games, even small subtle differences can throw me for a loop sometimes (like in MM8, up until you get the hypercharger attachment thing, I had to keep reminding myself not to release charged up shots too early).

MM2 was when I was still trying to get my controller working properly, so there are a few stupid mistake/rage moments, especially in Wily's Fortress. Sidenote: I did not realize how much damage the dragon in the first stage of Wily's Fortress actually does. I can't remember the last time I got hit by him.
I suppose we'll find out!
