On a technical level he's decent. He got picked up based on the strength of his youtube videos, so it's not like he can only sound good with studio help.

There's a lot of singers out there with better range, control, emoting etc but he's far from incompetent.

You do of course realiaze that you don't need studio help to sound better, right? They have shit on the computer to record and edit music.

Yeah but you don't have to worry about money do you, lets say you're ten years older than you are, your band is doing badly and a record company offers you 10 million dollars to produce a pop influenced album and your music is your only source of income, would you take the contract?
