Then I blame your vid card. Or lack thereof.

Well...I know the theme song. Nothing else, though. I didn't watch much TV for the first seven or eight years of my life... A few cartoons here and there, but nothing much. I just read, most of the time...

You sure do. Integs are suck. They should put a warning label on all PC's that come with them. "Warning: Do not game. Or watch movies. Or do anything. This thing sucks".

    /b/ was never good.

I watched alot of T.V. but I also read alot. My baby sitter made me read Moby Dick when I was 6. That was my first chapter book.

That's still reality. And they're easy to hate, simply because they're real. I guess the trouble with fictional villains for me is that they either end up just completely monstrous, to the point where they feel like cardboard cutouts, or they end up having such compelling reasons for their actions and personalities that they cease to be villains in my eyes. I find myself sympathising with, if not entirely condoning their causes.

I suppose the best sorts of villains for me are those who are absolutely vile, but where the path toward that vileness is clearly visible. Sort of halfway between. The character development prevents them from descending into stereotype, and their motives are still contemptible enough for them to remain villainous.

I guess the cardboard cutout sort of villain is really okay in fiction. I mean...there have been people like that in reality. People that are just rotten to their cores. But everytime I hear about someone like that, I'm shocked. And when I read about it in fiction, I generally just laugh it off.
