I always fear losing it and ending up the same way I did in high school, but I just don't see that happening now.

Well...I'm still really coming to terms with it. I just don't really post when I'm feeling a bit upset. But mostly I think I'm okay now. I find it hard to stay sad these days. I have too many pleasant people in my life rooting for me...

Yeah, I think the biggest thing now is I actually have something to aim for. Before it was just more of "serving my sentence" type of thing with no plans of using it for anything...this entire year is basically catching up for being so crappy in highschool, but one year of college was totally worth 4 years of highschool slacking

Ahaha. Yeah, I guess now you're approaching it of your own accord, so... It's not quite the same. It is amazing what you can accomplish when you're actually trying, though. I don't think I ever realised back in high school that if I actually did the work instead of zoning out half the time, I'd probably get good grades.
