Hm. My first impressions of playing a little Valkyrie Profile....

-Graphics are really nice so far
-Music is fucking great
-Voice acting could use some work
-Although I only saw her for a short time, I already want Frei to die (her voice and her general happiness need to go)
-The gameplay itself (I've probably only hit the tip of the iceburgh here, but it seems cool so far. Sort of a mix between Grandia and a typical RPG

I think I'll spend more time with it this evening.

I'm gonna tell you about Frei and Freya now!

In norse mythology Frei's this super-powerful male (!) god. The god of... fruitition or whatever. Very manly, he is.

Freya, his sister, is the female god of... well, same thing as Frei (Frej and Freja, btw), I think. Odin likes to fork her, and she's somewhat important too. For a woman.

In VP Enix made both these gods female for some reason. It's however important to note that they changed the names for the US version, so Frei is actually Freya and vice-versa. This way it actually makes sense that Freya is the stronger one, although it's mentioned somewhere that Frei has this weird power that could kill everyone. I think.
