DXM is great. People are like 'Haha, man you're tripping on cough syrup, totally lame' but it's a full on psychedelic, and if you take enough you can fully trip out totally, on par with good acid. I've tripped a couple times on DXM, both have been awesome.

The real bitch is finding non-prescription DXM that doesn't have aspirin or similar in the mix. Aspirin overdose == bad for the kidneys and liver.

Dude, Robitussin DM. The only active ingredient is DXM. It's behind-the-counter Chemsit stuff, but I've never had a problem buying it.

Personally, I wouldn't listen to it by itself (really, just about the only stuff I listen to on it's own is metal, noise/industrial and the odd bits of stoner rock and radio rock/pop), but it does do a great job of blending into the background whilst still being catchy and grabbing.
