I also read in one of those stupid newspapers that terrorists were coming into America disguised as lawn gnomes.... Don't take them seriously.

    Late on this as always:

Its not the officers job to teach anyone anything, he is there to protect the innocent, serve the public trust and uphold the law. If the kid was being a punk, which if anyone has been to harlem knows that kid was hardly breathing in comparison, its still not his job to physically assault the boy. He screamed at a minor, a feat that is truly below any of his training or job assignment.

Oh and side note: Not sure since when talking over a cop became illegal. Maybe it only is when he is verbally assaulting you.

    Sad.

The cop was kinda sorta an asshole for touching the kid, and a little ignorant of the fact that it was being recorded so it can be possibly used later as evidence in a suit.

Kid should have been there in the first place.

We don't know what the kid said to piss off the cop, either.
If the kid was told to leave the punk ass should've left, not mouth off.

I don't know on the whole not liking cops anymore. I have younger family members in the 13-15 year old range, and when their parents or any of their older siblings or relatives discipline them, it usually results in more disrespect and disobedience. Plus a later disregard for any authority.

Rebellion and disrespect seems to be the popular thing to do nowadays in the adolescent and teen years.

Bottom line is, kids need more discipline nowadays, apparently so do some cops.

It's not a new phenomenon. People in ancient Greece were complaining about the same shit.

Yeah well it wasn't as cool as it is nowadays.

Yeah but this punk ass kid wouldn't have listened.

No you repeat it, and if the kid mouths off then he deserves a freshly ripped asshole.

The moment he saw that kid, instead of seeing him as an individual with a unique life, he saw "teenage delinquent". Figures.
Yeah hitting a cop with a board for approaching you makes a whole lot of fucking sense. :eyeball: If I'd saw that in person I'd chase the kid down myself and whoop his fuckin ass.

Unique life!? What the fuck are you talking about? Everyone has a unique life. Talking back to authority, especially an an officer of the law would be considered delinquency.

I'm just spitballing here but I get the feeling you don't like cops much.

Eh. The same pattern of rebellion and disassociation goes back a long, long way. The exact acts change, but the base comparision is there.

Yeah I know, hence the dread smiley. It was a half-assed attempt to make me look more right than your previously correct statement. If that makes sense?

Not sure why none of you can hear the kid, but like i said, he is barely talking back until the cop assaults him.

Cop: Take those earplugs out your ears. Can you hear me now? Hey, im talking to you.

    Boy: What?

    Cop: Can you hear me?

    Boy: Yeah

Cop: Dont get defensive with me son, cause youll spend some time in juvenile. Youre not allowed to ride your skateboards near here. Nowhere.

Boy: Yeah i didnt hear you.

From there the cop starts in about the boys father and it gets pretty audible. Maybe, just fucking maybe, the cop was being a BULLY. Imagine that...

We need to teach the miranda rights at 10, all that kid had to do was ask to talk to a lawyer. Welcome to the police state that is the United States of America. The cops are dicks.

I have a problem with the local the authorities to being able, to get violent and yell at children like that. Yeah you bet they're punks. 14 year olds tend to be punks, because get this They're 14. Think about it from a parental standpoint. The police are supposed to protect and serve, not bully and harass.

He wasn't under arrest, so the Miranda Rights wouldn't have helped him there.

Quite contrarily they would have been of alot of use, the cop would have to cease his questioning of the boy. Just because you're not under arrest, doesn't mean the miranda rights don't apply. The 5th ammendment always applies.
