I actually like the rose at work idea. I'd do it if I was single.

And for all of you getting roses. I find a single rose does a better trick than a plethora of them (dozen). Simplify, simplify, simplify. Overkill spoils the moment.

Do women actually bother taking care of the 20382 roses bunched together?

Doubtful. The single rose is considered more significant than the 12, which basically screams "I over did it, look, I gots moneyz."

That's pretty much all it screams.

Chocolates are kinda the same way when ya think about it. But i recommend a medium sized box. Not small not large. Because large is overkill, especially the ginormous heart shaped boxes. that just says OMFG. I don't recommend the small box b/c hell that doesn't even satisfy myself as a snack. Medium size is also good for sharing.

Depends if you can put your hand on one of those small, but über fancy boxes. Totally worth it.

It depends on the recipient, too, but that's pretty obvious. You don't buy chocolates for a person with bad allergies. Still, the really good, genuine chocolates tend to be unfortunately expensive.

That said, I'm not doing anything for anyone on Valentine's Day. However, the next day, I'm going to see if I can swing heading out for Singles Awareness Day and half-off chocolate sales.

Hee. Isn't cheap chocolate better than having a special someone anyway? ^_~

    ...

    Okay, maybe not. But still...chocolate!

Normally at this time of year I make heart shaped cookies with red icing to give to my friends and family. It's been a silly little tradition of mine since I was given some by my best friend when I was seven. I guess it's not the same as something for a girlfriend or boyfriend, but I figure my friends and family are significant enough to me to count.
